It will if they clock it high enough. I doubt Nv will do something as stupid as clocking the 7600gt at only 300mhz, in which case it would be slower. I suspect it will be clocked relatively high to compensate for 8 pipes, like 650-700mhz, and that should make it about as fast as a 6800gt.
