I don't want to pay 500$ only for speed , i like stuff like the sky and watter effects in Far Cry and i don't want to have those reduced to almost "0".

I am really suprised anyone believes scores from a nVidia card and 3dmark2003. I mean, its not they dont continue to inflate the score on FX cards, why would they stop now. In fact, I dont trust much that nVidia does, after trying to show how awesome PS 3.0 is, when comparing it to PS 1.1, and saying it was PS 2.0.

The rast image is produced in software straight from the dx9 SDK. Think of it as sorta MS's way of rendering the scene exactly by their rules

cause accusations made are bullsh|t. if it was reversed, and they were hammering away at ati with the same "proof", i would do the same. it's not about who is the target; it's the fact that there is a target at all under these circumstances.

it's simply pathetic to me the length people will go thru with a seeming inability to actually take information and think for themselves, like what you have done, which is nothing else than to draw attention to yourself by posting something controversial with very little information to back it up - on a beta card and beta driver which is unavialable to the public right now.

i mean.. you talk of how the quality of effects "matter" to you.. and yet this entire debacle is based on something that DOES NOT affect the quality of the rendered output you see... you post the BS, sit back and watch to entertain yourself. you are unable to even address the points that are made as to WHY it's FUD. so no, m8, it's not me spreading FUD and looking silly in the process.

heh.. watch the video of that. they never SAID it was comapring 2.0 to 3.0.

they did, however do it in a way that implied it, and perhaps it was intentional or perhaps it wasn't, but that's just marketing, and frankly i don't believe either side when it comes to marketing. you have to take what is said and think for yourself 🙂

it's obvious there are benefits to ps3, tho it's evolutionary, not revolutionary. how it will benefit us as end users will depend on how and when the developers will use it, and only time will tell. ati will offer it in their next gen card, whether that's too late or not - well, again, only time will tell.

The point is, they tried to decieve people, and it worked. Look at all the posts it created, by ignorant people. Anyone who played the game would know thats not PS 2.0, if they played it in that manner.

Comments from dev's dont get me too excited about PS 3.0 to be honest. Most dont seem to think its going to help much at all, except the Crytek devs, for obvious reasons.

LOL, very well said, but get used to it. If you question Nvidia IQ - personal insults are the norm, fanboi is the common response. The Nvidia fans are very passionate in their defense. Really what is the issue here, Nvidia released a video card with drivers, to be reviewed and if they do not like the review, all hell breaks loose. There is a definite IQ problem with the 6800ultra on the officially released drivers - like so what? Nvidia can probably easily fix this. Now if they lose fps doing the fix they may be in big trouble in regards to the r420, but again - so what, not like any of us hold shares. One thing is clear, if Nvidia can fix this problem, they have a very nice video card coming to the shelves of a store near you, this summer.

So, will the results be the same everytime the same scene is rendered? Why is there no lens flare in the Max Payne rast pics?

I saw the video clip of the Unreal 3 presentation, or at least the engine that will power it. The speaker said that the 6800 was the first card that was able to run it. Whether its correctly or not, I don't know, but they ran the presentation on a 6800.
