Geforce 6800 ultra vs x800 xt platinum

I've heard people talk about it from both point of views. Now I want to hear your thoughts. I personally would go with the x800 only because I've always gone with ATI over nVidia, but to each his own.
 
If you are into more Direct X titles I would go with the X800. If you are more into open GL titles I would go with Nvidia. I have a 6800 Ultra that I was regretting purchasing because most the game I play are direct x... However, the Ultra was the only available card at the time.

I am pleasently surprised to see Nvidia win in the Counter Strike benches at Firing Squad... Made me more content with my card 🙂
 
I would say if youre a doom3 fan then go Nvidia for sure...games like doom3 quake 4 and all the mods would run great and so would hl2. and if ur going to get nvidia look into the Gainward 6800GT golden sample, you can oc to Ultra speeds easily and save urself some good money.
 
also i should have mentioned this...i own an ATi x800 PRO and im not that impressed, but maybe thats just me? Ive also been an ATi fan for a while but Nvidia won this round.
 
Have you used a Nvidia card from this round? Nvidia has come a long way from the FX, but I have both a x800xt-pe and a 6800gt which I run right below ultra speeds and the xt-pe is a better card for my purposes.
 
I've got both cards. Tell me what benchmarks you want me to run, and I'll post any information as a result. Test box will be a FX53 (939), 1GB of PC3200 Ballistix, 2x74GB Raptors Striped (among other things) ;p
