After upgrading from a Ti4200 to my Geforce6800 I noticed a issue when playing video files/DVDs. The picture looks like it is 256 colors instead of true color.

When I turn off hardware acceleration the picture is better but still not as good as my old Ti4200. Are there any advanced settings I'm overlooking in either the hardware or software?

thanks

I'm pretty sure this is a driver bug with certain levels of NVIDIA drivers. Please use the search function and/or check the video card drivers thread stickied at the top of the forum.

I thought the 77.77 drivers fixed this.. But if your video looks washed-out, go to the nvidia diplay properties, Color Correction, Select "Apply color changes to: All" , then set "Color Profile: Advanced Mode".

I have a PNY 6800nu - also just upgrades from a Geforce 3 TI200. My video worked good with the drives that came with the card - updated to the newest ones and had the same issue as you. Went back to the original drivers and worked good again.

Sound like a driver issue to me.
