I have a couple of questions. So I just got a HP 27Xi LED for an early Christmas present. I also have an Asus VW246H LCD. I have them both hooked up via DVI with my HP on the top connector and my Asus on the bottom. So what I want to do is be able to have one of them on my desktop at all times, my Asus, while I game on my HP. Now I was able to do this as extend my Asus to my desktop. So I load up SWTOR and play and want to go back to my desktop to look up a specific talent build for my Powertech in SWTOR for example. All I have to do is move my mouse over to the other monitor, but when I click on something, anything on the desktop, it bumps me out of the game as if I was hitting Alt+Tab. The game doesn't crash, just bumps me to desktop. I want to know how to be able to click on my other monitor's desktop, while playing the game and not have it bump me to the desktop. I can simply click on the icon to go back in, but I don't want that to happen.

My last question and this isn't as important as the first is, say for Battlefield 3, or 4 for example. You can have dual monitor setups and can use both monitors in the game. Basically, it expands your field of vision. Does anyone know how to do that?

Thanks in advance!

Since you have 2 monitors, dual screen gaming would not be effective in a first person shooter. You could use the second screen as the mini map though :)

I like to use my second monitor monitoring GPU/CPU usage and for general information. If I had 3 monitors, then I would use all three for my FOV.

I just got the HP 27xi at Costco and I really like it so far!

Thanks, yeah I got some help from a 3rd party, and they told me about Full Screen Window mode. Most games have this setting now, and it allows you go have an open browser, while in your game. You don't even need two monitors now. Sure, you could have two and quickly switch to the browser window, but since I heard Eyefinity, that Battlefield 3 and 4 sport isn't that hot, especially with only two monitors, I'm not going to do that. I gave my other monitor to my in-laws, since their monitor just went out yesterday as luck would have it.

When Full Screen Window mode is active, you just need an open web browser and shrink the browser window slightly and then if want to bring it up, just hit Alt+Tab and then if you want to switch back to the game, just click in the game space. I love it!

I'll be getting Battlefield 4 for Christmas, and I have a Nexus 10, so I'll be using it for the extra map and Commander mode too. Can't wait. Yeah, I love this monitor, it looks so good. A lot better than my 24inch Asus with a TN panel. The Asus was pretty good though, but one thing that really irked me at first was that it had a dead pixel on it. When setting up this HP, I saw a dead pixel on this one right smack dab in the middle and then I touched it, and it was a speck of dust.....WHEW. Anyway, I'm glad that I didn't get one with a higher resolution, because even though it would look better, it would also cut into the frame rate significantly, so the next time I upgrade my monitor, might get a 32 inch. I don't see me going over 32. There comes a point where it's too big for a monitor.
