Hi all -

I currently have a GeForce 6200 OC 256MB video card. I've been given the opportunity to upgrade my card with the GeForce 6800. There will be some cost on my end. I play City of Heroes / Villains a LOT. I have 1 GB of RAM, running a Dell 2.4GHz 8300.

My question is this: will I see a noticeable improvement if I were to upgrade to the GeForce 6800? I want to play my game using 1280 x 1024, maybe even higher. Right now, at 1280 x 1024, my framerate is a little choppy.

Opinions?

a HELL of a lot difference thats all i can say. think about going from a geforce2 MX to a geforce 7800GTX 512MB in SLI...well, not THAT huge, but 5700/5900 to 6800.

Ok, I'm convinced. I'll be getting the 6800 tomorrow (my wife is insisting on this - she wanted to get this for me as a Christmas gift).

Thank you all for your quick responses!!

Hehe cool.

Just make sure you plug in your vid card with an extra molex connecter

Be sure it is a reliable PSU too :)

Ok, got the card. And the difference absolutely AMAZING! I don't think I expected there to be as much of a difference as I am getting. Clarity, frames, everything...just unbelieveable.

Thanks again for all the responses. Probably one of the best investments in a video card I've made in a long time.
