Geforce 6 series and PureVideo

I just read today's article on PureVideo for the Geforce 6 series, and it mentioned that this was a "free" feature from Nvidia. I've looked on their site, it doesn't look like its bundled with any drivers, and they only offer it as a pay $19.95 codec download. Am I missing something, or is this really just a phantom "free" feature that you will have to pay for to use?

It's "free" in that any media player software can (theoretically) make use of it. I believe the only one that currently does so is NVDVD, which, as you noted, is not free.

I think the driver version is 71.03 and should be released very very soon (already delayed). I read that over on guru3d.com. So the drivers that officially support this aren't out yet afaik.

i have a few questions for the community: does anybody know if i could theoretically user my powerDVD software, along with nvidia's codec? how does powerDVD's de-interlacing algorithms compare to nvidia's? could i theoretically use nvidia's DVD decoder, but still apply some of powerDVD's features like CLEV?
