i think it'd be awesome if one of the sites (hint hint) ran some of them and recorded hi res avis using fraps, so we could all drool some more.

Er, Im confused, have we all been watching the same demos?

1. The mermaid demo - very plain sea, only impressive thing is her hair.........
2. The bugs-life demo - very good face/glasses on the bloke, hdr seems to show a bit in this which is good.......
3. The ship - very dark and plain sea, which only looks any good when you are way above it cus the moon shines on it, and it doesnt react in any way to the ships hull........



Hum, am I the only one to be disapointed?
I was far more impressed with the original GeForce FX line launch videos!!!!!!!

a). Dawn was much nicer to look at - seems more complex to me (with the exception of the hair)........
b). Ogre demo was really good to show complexity of models, and was very easy see very nice graphics.......
c). Time machine was fantastic, showing real-time manipulatin of the textures or whatever......



Am I the only one who thinks this?

think maybe your missing the subtle things like shadows or anything? there any where you download hi-res movies??

There was a time when I thought demos were a cool thing, showing off the power of the card. The thing is, is that such demos only show what the card can do, not what it will do. Depends upon the games to implement all the cool little quirks the cards truly support.

ie, it is:
A. more fun playing a game then watching a demo of something you can't really play or ever expect to
B. watching a movie because movies usually have interesting plots and and complimenting soundtrack to boot, not to forget the realism can't really be beaten just yet, which is what the demos usually attempt to show off, is how the cards can make games look prettier and more realistic
