Hello everybody.

It seems that nVidia released its GF4 too early...
The GF4 GPU is very unstable : more you play with, more it become unstable!! It seems that after a long period of testing, the chip is getting hotter and hotter, thus making the chip more and more unstable.
nVidia is working hard on this issue, but nearly all GF4 card out there are going to be recalled !! Their should be replaced with new card, empty of this bug.
Nvidia want don't revel this news... I know this from someone working for a compagny which has some kind of relations with nVidia... But i will not tell you who he is or what is the name of that compagny, to protect them.
Damn, just look how those GF4 GPU are getting hotter and hotter when you are playing...

Little advice : don't buy a GF4 card until nVidia fixed this bug !! (in 3 month may be) or simply buy something else !!

well, since i doubt this applies to the MX series (not exactly the mos power hungry...and itd need to be one hell of a bug to make em be so to the extent of recall IMHO)....and we cant actually buy the Ti series.....this becomes a problem for us how ?

Wow, don't you think a major review site would have said something if this was true? Especially since they had the cards for several weeks prior to the release of the Ti4x00 reviews. Go back from whence you came.

as for the grammar, probably foreign, don't blame him for that. as for the few amount of posts, everyone has to start somewhere, and also, maybe he just joined the forums because he wanted to share his important information.

but whatever, i'm happy w/ my all in wonder radeon 7500 so i don't care about nvidia

All GF4 cards have thermal protection and simply downclock as they overheat. NVidia has been doing this since the GF2 family.

No. If they overheat, they will lock up. Some vendors included "temperature monitoring/downclocking when necessary" functionality, however.

this issue is not really *that* funny...since exactly that happened with my 1 1/2 months old retail radeon 8500.

I overclocked it *very* mildly from the standard 275/275 to like 10mhz more on core/mem site....which is really not much.....i dont think i ever went over 290mhz using powerstrip.

The result is that all of a sudden my video memory was damaged...artifacts all over, even after a cold PC start and leaving all clock settings alone.

The artifacts also appeared always on the same location, so it may point to some defective/weak spots on the video memory.

I was also unable to play 3dgames longer than eg. one hour..with a ****load of fans blowing from any direction...open case....NO overclocking of the card *of course*...but after like an hour i got corrupted polygons and had to abort gaming....

You may be right if you blame EITHER NV *AND* ATI that all their cards are "buggy" whatever and or running at borderline specs....and i TOTALLY advice against ANY overclocking of these cards if you want to keep it for a longer time...it's sad but true...

(I just ordered another 2 case fans to replace my older/slower ones...one sucking in in front, one blowing out at the back....just because i am freaking out already putting my (hopefully soon) new radeon in then and maybe not having enough cooling in my sys...)




 
That's true, but nVidia already has a work around, I learned from a friend's aquantance's brother's wellwisher's wife's third cousin who works in a company who uses video cards.

Apperantly, all you have to do is throw a pitcher of water at the card when it heats up and then blame it on ATi.

Can you really sit there and say this post is right because you damaged your card? You realize that by overclocking you void the warranty and you also operated it outside of it's specifications. You cant complain about ATI or the cards themselves for the destruction you put them under. I'm also going to assume you didn't take proper care of overclocking the card. Did you use a blue/crystal orb? Did you apply Artic Silver Thermal Compound and ram heatsinks? If not then it's your own stupidity that killed the card, not the cards fault you ran it outta spec.

Can you please explain to me how "This exactly happened to me" You overclocked your chip, this is just a troll post about the Ge4 coming stock overheating over time? It's BS by the way, I don't see any reason the Ge4 would increase in the release of heat over time? It uses a set voltage and power, why would that rise?
