I wanted to upgrade my video card for one of these and I have a hard time deciding. Please help me. Also, if I were to get one of these 2 cards, which manufacterer should I get it from? And last of all, are these card compatible with most games (hard-core gaming) and applications (hard-core programming) out there? Thanks

yes they are compitable. 4200 is a slower then the 44000. but also costs less. if you area hrdcare gamer then get the 4400. I suggestion asus, visiontek, msi. they are more, off course.

You propably know that the (cheaper) one with 64Mb RAM @ 500MHz is faster in a lot of applications than the 128Mb RAM @ 444MHz.

If you have to choose between the two 4200 models, keep in mind that you can overclock the RAM on the 128Mb card, but you cannot add RAM to the 64Mb card.

I'm getting a 4400 (from VisionTek), that way I won't have to choose...

Ronin13, true, but i was reading here last night how the Gainward 128MB 500Mhz Ti4200 has already been in and gone out of stock at newegg...... $199

I was not aware that Gainward made a Ti4200 card with 128Mb @ 500MHz.

At $199 that's propably worth waiting for...

I don't need to wait for it...mine is arriving tomorrow 😉

Sorry...I like bragging 🙂 What can I say, I can hit that submit button really quickly 🙂

Good for you, Derango!

When (and if) that card comes to Denmark, it'll propably be overpriced anaway, so I'm still going with the VisionTek 4400.

(Which I'll be paying $350 for...)

Probably a good move for you. Whichever GF4 you get...its going to pretty much blow everything else away, speedwise, unless that Matrox card everyone is talking about comes out anytime soon.
