As much as id love some new drivers for my 680 so it spanks a7970 again...
I do not think these will do that... ill just wait for some that are intended for a 680.. till then ill just use the latest betas..
I've used both and I don't think that will ever happen. 7970 is definitely better for OC'ing for sure and is faster than the 680 (except in nvidia sponsored games, where its about equal) once you get a great OC going - and you don't have to worry about kepler throttle nonsense. Over 70C ? no problem. Over power? No problem. Dealing with kepler throttle is a bunch of horsecrap. I wish I had known about the throttle crap before I switched.
I do not have any Kepler Throttle Issues... Or power target issues.. And both my 680s overclock alot better then the 2 7970s i returned did.
600 Series have not got any Performance gaining drivers since release....
You do you just don't know about it.Unless you have a lightning or hardware modded card. You definitely aren't going over 1175mV or 1200mV without a lightning / hardware mod, and all keplers throttle- Except the lightning on LN2. (which is really nice BTW, I get a near 25k graphics score in 3dmark11). If you go over 70C your gpu clocks will oscillate (downward) the kepler forces this at a driver level unless the card is -- again -- hardware modded (such as the LN2 mode on the MSI lightning).

To reiterate - all keplers throttle from temp / power and this is enforced at a driver level unless the hardware is modified.
I'm pretty sure they have. There's no need to get defensive. I really do love the 680s (which is why I own them), i'm just saying they're about on equal ground with the 7970s when they're OC'ed - benchmarks show this - and the 7970 doesn't have throttle issues as does the stock reference kepler.
Cheers. Gonna test these bad boys out (thanks again tweakboy) and see if there are fixes to the games i'm having troubles with.

My main beef is why do we have to pay 600$+ for an unlocked MSI lightning 680? All keplers should be unlocked just like Fermi was. Up to 1.35V.
