I just bought an Inno3d Tornado II MX to replace my aging 16MB TNT card that came with my Dell. However, when I replaced the TNT with the Tornado II MX, I got a strange beep error that told me that no video card was present. I tested this on my uncle's E-Machine's computer, and the same beep occurred. Normally, he runs a Hercules 3d Prophet IIMX in his AGP slot, and it works fine. The card was thought to be faulty, so I sent it back for a replacement. Today, the replacement came, and the exact same beep error occurred. I doubt that I got two bad cards in a row, so something must be conflicting with the Geforce in both mine and my uncle's system. I don't know the system configuration of my uncle's computer besides the fact that he runs a P3 600 and the Hercules card, but here is mine.
Pentium 3 500mhz
Dell OEM version of an Intel SE440BX-2 motherboard
16MB TNT running in an AGP 1.0 slot @ 2X mode
Turtle Beach Montego II sound card
256 MB Ram
Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, were you able to fix it without reverting to a different card? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this? BIOS changes, anything? If it turns out that I'm screwed, I guess my only option would be to buy either a different version of a Geforce 2 MX, such as the Hercules one in my uncles computer, or a version of the Radeon. Or would that be even possible with my system configuration? Please help. Thanks.
