I have a Elsa Erazor x2 card that has the geofrce 256 chip on it. I installed it, and it seemed to work fine until I played Diablo 2. The screen went all garbled. I upgraded my drivers to the latest version, and Diablo 2 runs perfectly now, but a new problem was created. Before I updated my new drivers, my computer would go into and come out of suspend mode correctly. Now, I go into suspend mode never to return out of it without a garbled screen and a system crash. I have tried to update the video card bios, but I already had the latest video bios.
Should I look for generic geforce 256 drivers and try those? I have a TV out on this card, and I would like to be able to use it. If I get the generic drivers will I still be able to use my TV out? If this is the recommend fix then please give me a link to the drivers that I should try.
The other possiblity is that the card is sending the wrong refresh rate to the monitor when it is coming out of suspend. When it comes out of suspend it sets the refresh rate to 89 hz, and then it realizes that it should be set at 85 hz so it changes to that. I have manually set the refresh rate to 85 hz in the properties, and that didn't change its behavior. Still tried 89 hz first. Any suggestions here?
