Geforce 2 Problems

I have a Geforce 2 i just got from a friend and im attempting to repair it. When i turn the computer on, the graphics on the monitor appear, but there are large horizontal lines throughout and the colors are very dimmed. Also, the refresh rate goes wacko. The fan on the geforce 2 had stopped working a long time ago and he's been running it just fine ever since. I did notice that on some of the solder points to some of the chips, there was an orangish residue.

Chances are that the core is damaged from heat.

That's flux. It's supposed to be there. It allows the solder paste to flow and adhere when the bake the Geforce cakes

It has gotten too hot and fryed the core, I agree with Merloka.
