Geforce 2 MX200 or TNT2 Ultra?

Which card performs better? My bro is looking for some for a little gaming but nothing high end. Also he doesnt care about what the game really looks like.

Wow, there are some piss poor results on that chart. I'm going to have to break out Aquanox again to bench it on my system.

The GF2MX200 will tgoast the TNT2U in low-res gaming, but will be only equivalent when you push above 800x600 resolutions.

Well all games will be ran at 800x600 at least. Like I said he on a very low budget. I can either get him a GF2 MX200 with TV/out for about $35 shipped or I can get a TNT2 Ultra with TV/out for $28 shipped. How about if I overclock the TNT2 Ultra or should I even bother with it?

I know he's on a budget but for $40-$60 more he could have a Geforce2 GTS-V, Geforce3 Ti200, Geforce4 MX420/440, or Radeon 8500LE - much better bang for the buck, just my 2 cents.

Out of the two, MX-200 is better, although a GTS-V or Radeon LE (not even the Radeon 8500LE!) would handsomely spank it.
GTS-V and Radeon LE-DDR are both under $50US.
I should mention that the Radeon LE w/ TV out is a much better choice.... the quality of TV out is FAR better.

Snoop, that review is of the original MX, not the stripped MX200 in which sniper is asking about.

"any reason why those are the only choices? both those cards really stink up the joint in most moderm games."

Because this is his first PC and he isnt real picky he just needs/wants something to get started with. No one starts with a high-med end PC from the start unless they are rich and have someone know what they are doing build it for him. Which I know what I am doing but he isnt even close to being weathy.

might as well get a radeon 32 meg sdr pci from compusa for $30. it has tv out. the agp version is $50 and then has a $30 rebate on it, according to the sales guy there this evening. but i wanted tv out.
