I took a temperature reading of the backside of my GPU and it registered over 70C while idling. It was about the same temperature while in-game. Is this kind of heat normal?

I just plopped a PCI fan in there because this seemed way too hot.

The backside is often very hot, thats why you see some people put heatsinks on the back.

What's the room temp?

The room temp is about 28C. The GF2 used to get up near 80C, but since I put in the PCI slot fan, it's been more like 70C. The Athlon 1.2GHz CPU runs about 47C and the hard drive about 45C.

That 70C is just so much higher than any other component in there. I'm thinking about puting another exhaust fan on the back.

Are you OCing the card? If so I would defintly put a small heatsink (maybe a ramsink) on the back
