Geforce 2 GTS 32meg Vs. Geforce 4 Ti4400?

Ok i'm in the market for a new Video card and not sure what I should get.

At this time I have a Geforce 2 GTS 32meg card and thinking of getting a nice Geforce 4 Ti4400.

is it worth the cash for this card i.e. $479cdn pluss tax or should i hold out for the cheaper Ti4200 ? or should I stay with my good old Geforce 2 ?

will it make a big diff ? am i wasting my cash on the 4400 ? I want this card to last me for a year or 2.

thankz

Cool your jets.

The 4200 will be in the CDN 300 range with 95% of the 4400's speed.

200 loonies difference at least, tax in.

if you can wait a little while longer, you should definitely wait for the 4200. it'll be a lot cheaper and the performance difference will be minimal.

You'll see a massive performance difference going to any GF4 Ti board from your GTS. Which card you buy depends largely on your budget.

Keep in mind that when the Ti4200 is finally released it'll be the king of the price/performance ratio so you might want to wait a little while for it.

...ok to add onto this what CubicZirconia said, i dont say it wont OC further than the 4400, but couldnt the 4400 then be overclocked even further past that so it may be still worth getting it?

Yes, the 4400 will overclock higher than the 4200 ever will, however the difference will not be that significant, and certainly is not worth (in my opinion) $200 cdn.
