I currently have Creatives Geforce annihilator DDR in my machine and i´m very pleased with it. But since my daughter nagging me for a new graphics card to her computer i bought an Hercules 3D prophet Geforce 2 MX. I wan´t to know your opinion witch card i should keep for myself (the best of course:D) and what to install on her machine.
TIA

The DDR card you have will have the edge at higher resolutions & when using 32bit colour,so I would say this,on the other hand the MX has 2nd generation T&L hardware,so it all depends on how important 32bit colour & high resolution is for you in gaming,if it`s important go with the DDR card.

I'd stick with the DDR, like Mem said, its faster in high res where you really need it.

For gaming I'd say its the better card.

By fahr the 256 DDR Geforce is better, but in some areas bith cards' performance overlaps so i donest realy matter which one u have because they perform similar. the only thing it comes to is which one's name u like better (geforce 2 sounds cooler cuz its a new card (if u add the MX though its looses its charm :))) Anyhow the gerorce 256 DDR was the cream of the crop of nivida's vid cards, now its good buy for the buck but it aged. In my opinion both cards have similar performance (noticable performance) but looking a tech specs the 256 DDR is better but only if u comapre it to the MX. Anyways, read this article from anandtech and look at the chart they provide. Hopefuly this helps

Tank you all for your input!
I´ll stick with my DDR card in my own machine and put the MX card in my daughters.
CYA!

Kelemvor the Creative Geforce2 MX card is DDR but it`s 64bit DDR rather then the 128bit SDRAM used in normal Geforce2 MX cards & actually slightly slower on benchmarks then it`s 128 bit SDRAM brother.

Actually, I recently came across benchmarks at I believe planetgeforce.com (don't remember exactly where I saw them) where an overclocked MX actually BEAT OUT the GeForce256 DDR. Overclock the memory on the MX, bump the core up to 200 MHz (same as GTS) or above, and you have a very cheap card that edges out the GeForce DDR by a few FPS every time. And don't be deceived by the "DDR" MX cards; the 64-bit DDR memory on those cards makes them SLOWER than the 128-bit SDR cards. I have a Gainward MX card and I love it.
