Gefilte Fish. Liquid or Jellied?

The fish has to be chilled, Old Vienna Style served with freshly grated horseradish. If fresh horseradish is unavailable, a brand new bottle of red is an acceptable substitute.

An old army boot would taste o.k. with some fresh horseradish.

I'm not putting down gefilte fish, just praising horseradish.
 
You people are either on a bandwagon, or have never had good gefilte fish.

It's great stuff.

Never tried it but from the ingredients it probably tastes like fish with onions and eggs.
I like Fish - check
I like onions - check
I like eggs - check

Combined and it can't be bad.
 
Jellied, and don't get the low salt one. Now that tastes like crap.

I could live on Gefilte fish and Matzo Ball soup (or at least the next five days).
 
Yeah, I suppose the nostalgia factor just doesn't work for me anymore either. I also used to love it as a kid with horseradish, but not so much anymore.
 
Yeah, I tried it for my first time at a Sader this week. It was gross. With or without the horseradish.
