I was gonna make a post in that thread about that isn't any different from someone charging XX dollars to add/change memory...I went to geeksquad's site to see what their prices were ($89 to install hardware???)...all i can say is :Q
sample of their pricing:
$59 - Single Title Software Install (AV, AS, OLB. Etc.) **
From tax preparation to hobbies ? Geek Squad will install a utility or productivity software. Service excludes operating system installation. Software not included.
$89 - Software Suite Install (Suite, MSFT Office, DI Suites, Etc.) **
Service includes the repair, troubleshoot, or install one software suite (ex. Office, Norton Internet Security, etc.) and the installation of all critical updates for the software suite. Agents will also test the software suite for proper functionality. Software not included.
$89 - Hardware Install (upgrade/service) **
Agents are standing by to install any one PC compatible internal or external hardware device onto your desktop or laptop. Graphics/video card, memory, hard drives, and optical drives are examples of what this service includes. Hardware not included.
$129 - Operating System Install
Installation of the latest version of Microsoft® Windows that best suits you and your computer. Agents will install all critical system updates. Software not included.
$129 - We can provide an estimate for insurance purposes. Agents will provide you with an accurate estimated cost for repair(s) needed. WTH is this???
I know that no one forces you to use them, but for people who don't know any better...is this how much other places charge to do the same services???
