You know, if you happen to know a starving CE/EE student, they should be able to whip up the schematic for one of these suckers in about 5 seconds.

Save yourself some money :)

i was thinking about getting that $50 kit cuz i want to rearrage the placement of the leds but for $20...hmm...i wonder if i could rewire those leds.

hey...I'm a starving CE/EE student....maybe we can work something out =). Although parts would probably cost more than 20 dollaz...But if i had to I could get my 90 dollar Motorola 68'12 board to do it....=)

It is not really binary, because it would not be 10:48:36, it would be 2:12:09 in real binary :)
They are doing each digit seperately, instead of each ":" like most other binary clocks do :D

My only concern is how bright would the LED's appear under regular flourescent lights?

and what is the size of the unit?

As shaka said that is BCD (well with the extra leds removed where they would not be needed). Definately alot cleaner than a true binary clock would be!
