I have to be up at 3:00 AM... 6:30 AM is normal for me. Planning on going to bed soon.

Are there any services out there that do wake up calls... for free? It would be immensely helpful.

I have my alarm clock and my cell phone both set to wake me up, but if I happen to sleep through them (which has happened before) all hell will break loose.

Failing that, if anyone reading this knows my phone number....

How do people sleep through two alarms? It doesn't matter how much sleep I'm lacking or how early I woke up, I've never missed an alarm in my life.

If your PC is in your bedroom, download an alarm and crank up your speakers.

QFT. Now, I've managed to get up, turn the alarm off and go back to sleep without remembering it, but the alarm woke me up. I've never slept through something I really wanted to go to.

Someone here on ATOT gives out his number and requests a wake up from time to time... I always thought that was a good idea save for the fact that the entire board now has your number.

Just post your number and time zone. I'll bump this thread until the night crew gets here...

No offense, but this is a psychological issue. I'm not implying you have psychological problems, just that you don't really WANT to get up. I use my clock radio with NPR, with the volume at about 15%, and I've never had a problem waking up.

Yeah, I'll probably still be awake at 3AM, so if you want, I'm sure SOMEONE here can be your alarm clock.

bla bla bla...I really hope you aren't that ignorant. Just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for him. I bet he's great at stuff you suck at.

I have slept through a smoke alarm going off right outside my bedroom. That's changed a bit since I came to college - it's got me more on edge most of the time, being around people who aren't family. But I used to have two alarm clocks when I was in school, and sometimes that still wasn't enough. Sucked too - if they were right beside my bed, occasionally I'd turn them off in my sleep. Too far away, and they aren't loud enough.

No kidding. Who really wants to get up early and go to a boring class or job? :p

So....you had to wake up at 3am so that you could post back in this thread that you'd successfully been awakened at 3am?
:p:D

Escort service. Just have her stop by at 2AM and knock on the door.
And he'll be up in no time at all!
Pun definitely intended.

I sleep through a single alarm all the time. I always set two alarms (alarm clock and cell phone) and that always guarantees I'm awake. Well... actually I think I turn them off and then back on without realizing it or something. I'm not sure. I do know that I've missed a couple of important things by not realizing that it's time to wake up.

Of course. *Everything* is psychological in some manner. I *hate* mornings. I always have a hell of a time waking up in the morning -- even for things that I need to definitely be awake for. As for what wakes you up... that's different for each person. I've slept through fire alarms before. I've also slept through a house alarm system in panic mode (pulse siren) sounding before.

I built a little extra time into my schedule, so that I could check my mail and the status of a few servers before I had to leave. I was reasonably confidant that my two alarms would wake me up, but I needed to be as close to absolutely certain as possible. This was a situation such that had I not been to work exactly on time, sheriff's deputies in multiple counties would have been dispatched to find out *WHY* I wasn't there, and to escort me into my office.

Also, thanks again to the person that woke me up. :) It was nice to hear from you again! I owe you one. Or two. Or fifty. ;)
