Geek Squad... Kind of scary.

Kelemvor

Stopped by Best Buy today to see what they had for video cards with TV Outputs. Guy wearing the standfaard shirt/tie combo of the Geek Squad grabs one of fthe shelf and tries to make something up pretty quick...

Box said something like: VGA + HDTV + DVI + .....

He says: VGA... hmm... not sure what that stands for... But HDTV is Good!

*shudder*

And people are paying these guys to fix their computers? Not meaning that he didn't know what V.G.A was an acronym for.. He didn't know what it meant...

He should still know what it is and not just be like "whatever, HDTV rulz"

This doesn't surprise me at all. Geek Squad is a very low-end job. I'm sure talent level varies tremendously.

Bah. Two out of three ain't bad.

geek ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gk)
n. Slang

A person regarded as foolish, inept, or clumsy.
A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.
A carnival performer whose show consists of bizarre acts, such as biting the head off a live chicken.

Mistake #1: Going to BB to look for a video card.

BB had a whopping 2 decently warm deals on video cards this year...

I had no intention of actually buying one from there... Was just looking to see what was out that would do the job. I'll probably end up picking up an older All-In-Wonder card or something that will work.
