Geek Squad Interview Questions?

it was a lot harder than i expected. especially when you don't know windows 98 that well. "why can't you install norton anti virus in safe mode in windows 98"

I hate stupid tests like this that don't have information applicable to what the job actually is. Often, they have questions like that because they're too lazy to update the test. At Geek Squad as soon as someone mentions the words Windows 98, you'll be responding with, "We can sell you Windows 7 for the low price of $199.99."

Geek Squad is just an extension of the sales floor. The are paid to promote specific items and convince users they need to buy new equipment because their current stuff just isn't worth it.

Complete scam. I wouldn't want to work there just because I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

I don't know how you figure they can't "technically" find out. Any company has the RIGHT to tell an inquiring employer why you left their employ. Many prefer NOT to do so out of fear of lawsuits, but if you list an employer who fired you and BB contacts them, it's entirely within the realm of possibility that the truth (or lie) will come out.

In Texas all an employer can say is if the person is re-hireable or not. They can not give any negative comments or job performance ratings, ect.

And please stop using the term RIGHT. Show me in the Constitution where it mentions anything about employers RIGHTS.

That is incorrect.

In Texas as long as you answer what was asked, and what you say is factual and non-inflammatory it is allowable.

Not allowed:

Inflammatory: "Jane was fired for using drugs. We don't tolerate druggies here."

Allowed:

Non-inflammatory: "Jane failed a drug test on (date). The initial positive result was confirmed. Medical review of the result revealed no satisfactory explanation for the presence of the substance that was found. Employees who fail a drug test under such circumstances are subject to termination."
