My grandpa's girlfriend went there due to her having some problem..I forget what it was..but she was in South Carolina and didn't ask me about it. It was some small thing.

They talked her into their "computer optimization" - $40.
They talked her into getting more RAM (which granted, her laptop could have used) 1 GB - $80
Installation of said RAM - $40
Installation of some software (I think it was printer software) - $40.

Here's the kicker though - as soon as I saw the receipt I knew something was up as a few days prior I had just checked and her computer only had 512 megs of ram in it. I checked inside and sure enough, there were the two 256 meg sticks that came with the laptop. They never gave her or installed the RAM she payed for.

WTF! $580 is replace a HDD???

This

The outrage isnt that they missed the HDD being unplugged. The outrage is what they are charging to replace it with a new one.

maybe they wanted to replace it with a 5 TB hard drive + $80 for an hour of labor?

seriously F'd up

"We pulled the plug on the hard drive".

They did not pull "a plug" they pulled a ribbon cable. 😛

Saying ribbon cable would have confused too many of the viewers.

Also, it was a rounded Antec cable. 😉
