Somebody should make an online personals service that focuses specifically on computer-oriented people... "geeks" and "nerds." You know... intellectual, eccentric, odd people who are willing to be themselves. It's hard to find us in the mainstream culture.

You just told everyone your secret to a successful website business. Quick! Do it before someone else does.

I have seen one. You could do a search by sex, interests and programming languages. I think it was part of some bigger network of websites, and went down with the dotcom collapse.

Yeah, that would end up like all the "geek" fourms (e.g. this one): 98% visited by males.

Why do all geek men look the same? I swear, I think the emissions from the CRTs or whatever fvck up our genes and make all geeks look the same...am I the only one who notices this?

To clarify...I think all real geeks have an uncanny resemblance to Michael Moore...

I'm 225 pounds. I was lucky in school. Only one guy used to beat me up, but it was more-or-less horse-play between the two of us. It was definitely two-sided.

Not only does my artistic self portrait disagree with that....

Are there an equal # of girl and guy geeks? It seems like the geek female still has a larger dating pool because she can fit in with the non-geeks quite well and may select a mate from that group. So maybe what we really need are some structured lessons for how to get geek males to feel less shy and self-conscious so they can go out and impress their mate of choice. Otherwise you might end up with a 500/1 ratio of lonely geek males/females.

That's a good observation. A lot of nerds/geeks have pale skin, thick glasses which by the way seem to have the same frame, bad hair, lack of personal hygene, obnoxious, and etc. :)

It's not quite what you were suggesting, but there's The SCience Connection; there's probably lots of computer-oriented sites out there.

I'm not convinved that all geeks look alike; I usually describe myself as a geek, and none of the pictures so far look like me.

not quite what I was looking for....

perhaps I should have named it "nerd" personals. I'm looking for people who like poetry and stuff too.
