i'm going to bet 99% of you have never read harry potter, and if you do, you'd be prejudiced against it because its an alleged "children's" book.

LotR has more of the "epic" feeling to it, while Harry Potter's world doesn't feel that grand..

That said, I've read all the books from both :)

I have a man crush on Aragorn/Harry.

I have read all the Harry Potter books. In fact, I read the first 4 in 4 days they were so much fun to read.

But guess what... they don't even come close to comparing to the Lord of the Rings. Not even close...

Having done the same virtually (read all the HP books in a week) I heartily agree, HP is a pure bit of lighthearted escapist fun but in no way can you compare it to the richness and depth of LOTR. The HP books are good but they're non league compared to Premiership when up against LOTR

They're both great in their own way. I love both series of books and films.

This is kind of like asking 'Which is better? Lord of the Rings or American Pie?!!?'
