Just curious... Do Geek Codes matter anymore?

I discovered them fairly recently - about 3 months ago, actually.

If they are redundant, what is the replacement? AT Post counts?

Geez, look at the copywright:

I've been a computer nerd / geek since 1978 (TRS80 model 1 🙂 ) and geek codes have never mattered. AT post counts? anyone can get them by pointlessly bumping in FS/FT.

all I can say is wow, that must have taken many sleepless and sexless years by a man in his mid-40's still living with his mom, thinking that it was cooler to be underground internet than mainstream.... I think I have just seen a new low of human existence, that is just depressing.
