Gee, mom, thanks for spiking my OJ. You suck.

Mom admits spiking kids' orange juice

Snippet #1:
A Naperville mom at first claimed her three children accidentally drank orange juice tainted with a prescription anti-depressant, but then admitted she spiked their drinks and intentionally served them the concoction, authorities said Monday.
Michelle Helgeson, 30, was charged with felony aggravated battery, although police and other investigators were still trying to determine Monday what prompted the divorced mom to allegedly give her kids the drug Xanax, commonly used to treat depression. She is accused of serving the tainted drinks Sunday evening to her 10-year-old son, as well as her 9- and 4-year old daughters. She remained in custody Monday evening

Snippet #2:
A neighbor, Norm McAlexander, was amazed to hear Michelle Helgeson had been charged, partly because he hadn't seen signs of tension between the woman and her children. "They're lovely little kids,'' he said.

Do you think she doped her kids so they'd be more manageable while her life crumbled around her? Gee, maybe I should be a detective.

Im from naperville and seen a ton on the news about that. Naperville is weird lately, few years ago some mom went nuts and killed her 3 kids, think something similar happened a year or 2 ago also.

My friend's parents used to do that to their kids when they went on long road trips. Give the kids some sort of medicine to make them sleepy...

Well if you want to be like that let's just go ahead and say "yet another f*cked up woman

" I mean while we're generalizing and all...

Yeah, typically that is a motion sickness drug though, not xanax.

I remember when I was young, like 6, my mother had a batch of Screwdrivers mixed up in the fridge... I thought it was normal OJ. I took one sip and ran to the sink to spit it out 😀

Doesn't have much to do with the topic, but that came to mind when I saw the title...because I really wanted some OJ that morning, I was mad it was mixed up already 🙁

The title reminded me of my frat days. One night we had an absolutely crazy party and the next morning pretty much everyone was hung over. Our cook, being the funny lady she was, put almost an entire half gallon of vodka in our OJ dispenser. Well, needless to say we were all dehydrated and fighting to get some OJ. Well, after a while we noticed the cook laughing at us and she admitted to spiking the juice.

some lady did this not to long ago with a benedryl type non-perscription drug and killed the baby she gave it to. Christ, people are stupid.

thats like the recent article i saw about a mother letting her 12 year old daughter drive home cause she was intoxicated. Needless to say they got pulled over anyways because the 12 year old couldnt drive.

Exactly why im going to teach my child how to drive early🙂

Jeez... you'd think the Sun-Times reporter could have actually researched some information about Xanax before he wrote that article... :disgust:

Xanax pdf

Xanax is a Schedule IV drug, the worst side effect seems to be that it is addictive (with withdrawal symptoms), which seems to be why it is not to be prescribed to children under 18.
Like the article implied, it is possible to die from OD, but it would require approx. 975 doses.

When I first read the title I thought she spiked it with vodka.
