The noise I made after I saw this was something closely resembling "meef".

When that guy comes through the wall at the end, I nearly soiled myself. For those of you not familiar with Gears of War, it's a next gen title coming from Epic games for Xbox 360 and PC. It's built on the Unreal Engine 3, and is said to be a third-person shooter.

I think it's quite obvious that epic knows how to use their engine.

but.. yes... pc games reach the new xbox level already it seems :D

though that basketball game makes me wonder.. alot

Has anyone else found out any information on this game? According to gamespy, the game is supposed to be released June 1 on PC (roughly 2 weeks from now). I'd like to know if this is true, cuz if so, i'll be at the store when its out to get it (if it proves to be a good game).

I would assume that's June 1 2006. U3 engine won't be finished till 2006 right?

Since they are developing it for the Xbox 360, that means they already have their hands on next gen hardware :(

Gamespy's website says June 1, 2005 for pc, there's no date on the xbox 360. But i thought that Epic already finished the Unreal 3 Engine. There's already several games in development that are using it, including UT2007 and Gears of War. I think it was already almost finished around last year's E3 when Epic showed the engine demo. Either way, this game looks badass. Looks better than Doom 3, but i guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out :( Oh well, guess i'll just wait for GTA: San Andreas to come to pc next month :D

Xbox360 developers are coding on Apple G5s since that is the closest thing to the Xbox360 hardware right now. If you notice, most of the game demos so far haven't included anti-aliasing. That's cause they'll need the 3 3.2ghz cores plus the ATI card with 10mb of embedded DRAM to do so.
