Probably because US shoppers are picky, and half of that stuff is what I would call "buggy"---they have some major downfalls that we would tear apart.

blame the lack of an unlocked cell phone market on the marketing gimmicks here. We need ridiculous names for cell phones to get people interested.

Yea, I was expecting some drool-worthy stuff but nothing on that list looked better than some of the options we have here in the states.

Whats interesting is this note on the ant watch on the ordering page:

This watch is only available for customers in the United States. Orders for this watch from other territories will not be accepted. Sorry for any inconvenience.

That $140 Android tablet is exactly what I want. I would buy several of those just to have lying around the house. One of my long term projects is complete home automation and cheap tablets will be a big part of that.

That cheap little Android tablet has my eye...I wouldn't mind having that for a cheap ebook reader to keep on the nightstand.

Nothing really interesting to me. The HD mini definitely shouldn't be on that list as it's not that fast, small screen and low res.

The tablets are almost interesting, BUT they're only Android 1.6/1.5 (which is old) and they only have 128MB RAM (which is just barely enough).

That'd be pretty cool. I've wanted to do something like that too. First part for me is the hardest, getting the house... :)

Those tablets, which is probably not great for intense usage, would be decent for browser based home automation. I imagine you could probably also wall mount them.
