GCN 1.0 is full DX12
AMD Catalyst Slide shows Tiled Resources Tier2 support for HD7000 Series, but the Catalyst driver has some problems with detection in the DXCapsViewer, and also some problems with detection of OpenCL support in the GPU-Z, although the OpenCL worked in other applications without any problems.

Lets see when they deliver then. Until then its FL11.1.

MS would not sabotage their Xbox1 by making DX12/FL12 not compatible with it.. seriously must be thinking MS are run by imbeciles to believe otherwise.

DX12 is compatible. Even Phil Spencer, head of Xbox division downplays it.

“On the DX12 question, I was asked early on by people if DX12 is gonna dramatically change the graphics capabilities of Xbox One and I said it wouldn’t. I’m not trying to rain on anybody’s parade, but the CPU, GPU and memory that are on Xbox One don’t change when you go to DX12. DX12 makes it easier to do some of the things that Xbox One’s good at, which will be nice and you’ll see improvement in games that use DX12, but people ask me if it’s gonna be dramatic and I think I answered no at the time and I’ll say the same thing.”

MS certainly agrees with me, from their own DirectX tools.

CD Projekt seems to disagree with you http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Xbox-One-Unlikely-Hit-1080p-With-DX12-Says-Witcher-3-Dev-66567.html

wccftech disagrees with you

and drumroll... Microsoft disagrees with you.

"Xbox One games will see improved performance, and we'll bring the same API to all Microsoft platforms," said development manager for graphics Anuj Gosalia

I think you confuse the reduced overhead API benefit that even Fermi supports, with the featurelevel.

If both uses trueaudio. Why can you count the amount of games supporting it on 1 hand?

Because nobody cares about True Audio. That's the reality, its never going to be a marketing "WOW!" or "Must have!".

But thats not the point, the point is the SoCs in the XB1 and PS4 aren't GCN 1.0, they are FL12 hardware. MS knows what they are doing with DX12 and its to benefit their ecosystem, with the XB1 as priority.

Can you imagine at MS HQ or conference, telling game devs who these days are almost all cross-platform devs with consoles as the focus...

"Hey guys, we're giving you an awesome new toolset so you can use it to build cool games, so many new features to enhance creavity!.. BUT! Its not going to work on our XB1.. "

Yeah, like that would happen.

"Lets talk a bit about Xbox One now. Phil Spencer has made it clear in his tweets that Xbox One will be getting DX12, infact he claims that it will be getting not only DX12 but Feature Level 12_0 as well, something I find hard to believe since the feature level has yet to be finalized. However, as I have maintained before, consoles already have to-the-metal access to their hardware via an RTOS (Real Time Operating System) and the only advantages Xbox One will get are new graphical features. Still it would be interesting to see what Microsoft can pull off with this new update." - wccftech

Above tweet from Phil Spencer saying some features of DX12 already available for XBOX but full DX12 coming.

It's not that easy. Low level APIs are clean slate, so if MS refuses to push hardware feature support, cross platform OpenGL crowd will. Mantle was wake up call for industry, so MS can't no longer afford to sit on their market share advantage, but rather fight in the world of vulcans spewing metals. It actually does not take rocket scientist to see that they will have announcements for mobile API in the future.

the consoles have modified GCN. The ps4 version of it has extra ACEs, the xbone has extra vs pitcairn but not as many as the PS4. Both have specialized audio DSPs but they are not the same. And they aren't the same as TrueAudio either. Xbone will have a specialized version of DX12 that's likely more marketing than subtance, im sure itll be pretty similar to whats already there unless they have had functionality buried for a long time (doubtful)

What he has said in more detail on other occasions, is not that DX12 is limited on the XBONE, rather, it won't bring that significant of a boost because much of what makes DX12 so advanced is already incorporated into the XBONE API.

In other words: there will be some benefit, but much of the benefit that DX12 brings is already incorporated on the XBONE. This is thanks to AMD and Microsoft working together to create a more efficient and lower-level API, and that served as the basis for Mantle, and they gave insight to Microsoft on how to translate that into what would become DX12.
