While I agree that the remark was not in good taste, to not EVER use the word is ridiculous - especially when white people have been scared into NEVER using the word "n!gger" for fear of retaliation. I agree that the word should never be used as an insult, but to refer to it as "the n-word" is ridiculous. I remember hearing about the white principal of a school getting suspended because she pulled two black kids off of the playground and asked them to specifically not use the word "n!gger", explaining that some people find the word offensive.
