Will the school be open to all students, gay or straight? If not the City will be discriminating against non-gays.

This sounds like segregation to me.

It will be open to all students, but no straight guy is going to go to that school.

If anyone challenges it in court, these schools will be f*cked.

The article also says the school is open to any students, not just gays. It's just supportive of them.

So if I am a horny dude in HS I can go there in hopes of seeing girl on girl action?

We're talking real life lesbians here, not the ones you see in those videos.

What are they going to challenge? Straight kids can go there, even if they choose not to.

There will be some straight students there, probably because it's the nearest school. Just supporting gays is not enough reason to drive 30 minutes away when there's a school next door.

Damnit why did you have to bring your logic storm to rain on my imaginative parade?

So...ButtBuddy system?

Edit: And doesn't every school have a goddamn GSA or LGBT club or something that sounds like a sandwich gone wrong?

I don't imagine every school in the CPS has those programs and fat lot of good they probably do in many schools.

The idea is to give gay students an option to attend school in a less threatening environment. Arguably the problems they can face transcend race and class in many instances (or even be exacerbated by it).

I don't see the point of this quite frankly...

I think the point has to do with the fact that high school is difficult enough socially when a student is straight. High school also happens to be a social scene in which not being perceived as straight can very often lead to being ostracized and bullied.

Is this school just sheltering these students from social difficulties they will have to deal with in the future anyway? To some degree, but high school is one of the peak environments for homophobia in my experience. At least by the time they graduate they will feel more comfortable with their own sexuality and dealing with homophobia in college and work will be slightly easier.

Again, this school is gay friendly, not gay only. You might think that everyone there is gay, but I'm aware of alternative schools which stress acceptance of different sexual preferences which have many students that identify as straight.

Does this imply other HSs are gay-unfriendly?

I wish I could find the "Clay Aiken admits hes gay" thread, because people called me a biggot for suggesting that high school kids arent exactly "gay-friendly". I think this puts that to rest.

If this is a hit, they should do gay friendly jr. high schools, since most gays "realize" they are gay around 12 or 13. Nothing like a little segregation to help bring people together.

If only they could just find the cure for gayness this wouldn't be necessary.

If only they could of found a cure for your parents so they wouldn't have bred an asshole like you. Being gay is not a disease or an illness.

What about elementary schools and pre-schools?

no reason to yet. Since we're headed down that slippery slope, how about bestiality friendly schools? All gays also are into pedophelia and sex with animals. it's just one of those facts that everyone knows.

except gays. someone should really let them in on this secret.
