An age doesn't necessarily mean it was ethical though. Seeing how he (the 32 yr old) bossed the cops around, I would venture to guess that the 17yr old was somewhat manipulated into the relationship. (my gripe is that there is such an age disparity, and I would guess power disparity, not that it was a homosexual relationship)

While power disparity is likely, at 17 he's no longer afforded the protection of law. He can do whatever he wants, with whoever he wants.

If I were his parents I'd have told them off too. Then again, my 17 year olds won't be screwing 32 year olds.
