You will always have to rule out violence as an option because as long as you feel that irrational dislike the feeling of violence will be there to be ruled out. Love and the notion of having to rule out violence will simply not be there.

Just announcing your dislike for gays shamelessly as you did does violence to me. It makes me suffer the conscious recognition that there are sick people like you around, content in their sad blind bigotry. They have a disease called bigotry. Punishment only creates a fear of breaking the rules it does not cure the soul of such sickness. It is very sad to have to isolate poeple who act out from the rest of society, but it would s necessary for the safety of other people. We don't want to get into the mind set of gloating about having to do that. The better option is to try to bring love, knowledge, and understanding into the world so our kids don't grow up bigots.

One of the symptoms of being a bigot is the fact of your being one will often be presented to you and you will not see it. You will then form a rationalization by which to deny it like the one you just tried to fob off on me.

Being a bigot has nothing to do with merely disliking something. It has to do with tha fact that the dislike is irrational and often can be traced to some religious text as the basis for supposed authority.

For your further edification, screaming babies elicit a built in attention getter designed to insure our survival and a lot of the irritation we feel is otherwise related to the suppressed memories of those very screenings of our own we happily repress. I guess the suspects should be given hugs/told they're loved and set free as there's no use in punishing them for assaulting people they deem to be immoral/evil.

As for your comments about potty training, I was potty trained and was walking very early.

My grandmother took special care to make sure I was potty trained and walking by 1 year old.

You can teach children to be more accepting of other people and hopefully in the future it will make a difference however, the law can not turn a blind eye to those who violate the law. I have no issue with anyone being held accountable in a court of law for committing assault no matter the sex, race, creed, or sexual orientation of the victim.
