Oh yeah, that one was real. It was sent in resonse to a photoshop of a theoretical update for guard dogs. Hilarious, the letters they send out are pure gold.

They did a pretty good job with it. I highly doubt it'll be an actual update, though with Valve you never know.

The original team fortress had guard dogs as a map addition (guarded the flags).

Still, that update would be really cool if valve adopted it.

the "letter" was posted on the official TF2 blog, so I'd reckon a guess it's less of a joke and more of a "let's see how people respond to this idea", or even a "we're doing it, and here is a teaser for something coming in a future update."

If I recall correctly, I've already seen emails from Valve saying they're not putting this in.

The letter was a joke post by Valve, because they liked the effort that the person had put into it.

again like i said it was graphic designer from Brazil hence the bad grammar. But he did a great job and valve sent him the letter.
