1600x1200@60 & 75Hz <-- seems low for a 22" CRT
Although this deal is very tempting.

I have a 19" Diamondtron that does 16x12@85Hz & the image quality is incredible.

There is no way those numbers are correct for a diamondtron tube.

I had a 2060u with the same tube and it did 1600x1200 @ ~100hz.

Plus look at every res...it says 60 & 75 for every one of them.

The monitor will do 1600x1200 @ 85 Hz. I have the VX1120 (bought around 2000) and it's running 1920x1440 @ 75 Hz right now and has been for years. The specs on that site only show suggested resolutions and frequencies. For the money it's a pretty good deal.

LCD's still can't compete with CRT's when it comes to desktop real estate (resolution), and if you're a real power user, you know what it's like to run 1920x1440 or 2048x1536.

Did Gateway ever ship any of your monitors? I ordered on March 24th and still have no idea of when it will ship. After checking the status of my order on the Web site, it says "We are currently awaiting the arrival of part(s) required to fulfill your order. " Since this was a closout item, I'm wondering if I'll ever get this monitor. :(

I've tried to do that several times. I either 1)Get transferred to the wrong department or 2)get cut off! Looks like Gateway's service hasn't changed much since I bought a computer from them in '93.

If you plan on doing two of these, your S.O.L. It's very important you run the refresh asyncronously, ie, one at 85hz and one at 75hz, otherwise they will magnetically interfere. The problem is with a max of 75hz, you will be forced to run one at 60hz, not friendly. You could run one at 72hz, but thats still too close to 75hz and will cause some interferance.

I guess this was a refurb? Link is no longer valid and VX1130 doesn't seem to exist on the site.

That's right except for one thing...the 75 listed was not the maximum but, as shown above only recommended. There are people with this monitor running at that resolution over 75. Still seems unlikely anyone is going to get the monitor though...except maybe a few lucky earlier buyers.
