I can't believe these guys posting and threatening the BBB and such! Geez you guys. This is one hell of a deal at $560 shipped and you guys are griping about "oh but I want both coupons to be used." I just spoke to my CSR and told him that if applying the $50 off coupon is going to hurt his commission or the sale of the product to not do it! He didn't sound too happy and he said that alot of the CSRs are tired about the bithin and moanin of getting those coupons applied. He understood what I meant but he said that he can apply it for me. I THANKED him for doing that and because of it, I ordered another system but at the higher $560 just so he could make a little more.

So please. Don't go yelling at the CSRs or anything. Or post messages saying that 'the media will fix this mess.' I have no doubt that Gateway will honor the prices they sold the servers at but to a point. If you got the system for $425 shipped, well you're basically robbing them. I'm not saying that there was any wrongdoing, just misinformed personnel. And don't gripe about this because you're just gonna screw it up for the rest of those that did not bitch and moan about getting the coupons.

I would like to thank the many number of posters who agree with me.

Yes I am new to this forum but I am not new to Anandtech. I have been here a while trolling around just not responding, I have seen these forums go through changes, admins having to control things like coupons and rebate codes due to misuse.

Its no secret why those things are not allowed here, they where used and abused beyond belief, to the point of being flat out illegal.

The reason I am not active in this forum, because its a pain to read... Most of the messages are useless junk. People ranting on endlessly. Theres no reason in the world for a single topic to get so many messages, who really cares if your wife will kill you for buying the computer..

Heck I hope she does.. Thats one less useless post I have to read through.

People make mistakes, Companys make mistakes. People that get payed commission make the most mistakes of all.. Why? They dont care, As long as a computer goes out the door they make money.. I HAVE DONE THE JOB I HAVE BEEN THERE. I refuse to work for comission anymore, give it enough time it will lower anyone to sell Water to a Eskimo just to try and make a buck.

When you do everything in your power to get a price on something lower then normal, including call around, cancel previous orders for lower ones and use coupons that you KNOW shouldnt be allowed because it flat out says so on there website, you should be ready to be disappointed.

Cancelling your order isnt wrong, its there RIGHT! Its the right to protect there company from loss.

Do you sue a store every time a item rings up diffrent from what you expected.. You argue it.. You get the price you want, or you dont End of story.

Maybe I went about this all the wrong way but look at yourselves.. Look how low some of you have gone. We have become a world of money grubbing fools looking for someone to sue. We refuse to take responsibility for our own actions, instead we blame our problems on others, or on guns, video games, you name it, but its never OUR FAULT something happened.


Kid shoots his friend by mistake.. Everyone blames it on the gun.. You dont see the news asking why the parents didnt teach there kids about guns, Where the parents where, why the gun wasnt locked up.. You rarely see those sides of the story, its always GUNS ARE BAD...

Stop blaming your loss on gateway and accept responsibility yourself.. You stepped out on a limb and it broke.. Take the fall like a man.. get up.. brush yourself off and move on.

I agree with the method of frizzlefry also. Those CSRs are ppl too, they are working there so that they can make a living, not to be yelled at. (Something that even I sometimes forget.) So people, please be kind to your CSR and DON'T yell at them if they won't give you your system at the price that you want. Thx for listening.
