Looks like they have now killed the camera orders as well as the Visiontek orders. Do you think if we sent the letter Toshiba and bought elsewhere they would honor the $100 rebate???

No IMO, they are just cancellling any outstanding orders that used the $50 coupon code posted to the deal sites. If you check their site you will also see that a lot of the items that were offered last week are now 10-20% less this week after the coupon expired including the WD 10GB special edition drive.

well daaaamn, now i'm gonna have to cancel my epson printer w/ the 100 dollar rebate from dell. oh well i guess i didn't really need a 4.2 mp camera for $325. ah damn, yes i did.

SirDante: Photo Stylus 785EPX? If so, you'd love it. I got it with my nikon coolipix 995. Managed to get the printer and camera for around $525. It is an awesome printer for photos

Being new at this, I called Toshiba on-line this morning asking if they will honor the rebate since I now have to go buy it elsewhere. Of course, he explained that I needed to contact the fullfillment center and ask them, etc., etc.

The interesting part is that he then offered to sell me the PDR-M81 camera for 399!

If I can get the fullfillment center to honor the rebate and then buy the camera directly from Toshiba then it will be a better deal than before...

Just got off the phone with the fullfillment center.

He says the Rebate will not be extended, explained that this was suppose to be a two day thing back on January 1st, but since the coupon made it to the internet and instead of telling everyone too bad Toshiba was honoring the coupon.

Persistence pays off...after having my order cancelled by Gateway like most people...my rep and her supervisor tried to get Toshiba to honor the rebate if I place a new order. Toshiba declined, so Gateway will take $100.00 off my order, as well as honor the $50.00 coupon. My Toshiba PDR-M81 will be $299.95 shipped. No rebate bull$h!t to deal with :Q
