Visiontek Statement - 3/09/2002 12:45 pm - By: Ben - Source: Email
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John Malley, Director of Marketing at Visiontek passed along this statement this morning. For those that haven't received an email from Gateway on the matter already, here's what actually happened:
VisionTek has spoken with Gateway/NECX and they have admitted that there was an internal error with regards to the products being promoted with a discount through other sites. Gateway/NECX had so many orders for the products that they had to cancel the order taking process because they felt they wouldn't be able to fulfill all of them. When that happened, according to the Gateway Accessory Store, a "standard response email" was generated to all who ordered. The statement, "This item is no longer available from the manufacturer and will not be listed on our site in the future." is false. Gateway told VisionTek they would be working with individuals who placed the orders to fulfill them.
VisionTek IS manufacturing Xtasy Ti4600 and Xtasy Ti4400, and these products will be available through the retailers and etailers listed on our website. This is a copy of the new email Gateway has promised to send out to all who have not yet been contacted about reinstating their order:
"We recently cancelled your order in error and a sent a system-generated email, indicating that a VisionTek product had been discontinued. The product you ordered with us is available from the manufacturer. We would appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to total customer satisfaction, and reinstate your order at the originally agreed upon purchase price. Your product will be reinstated to backorder status and will be fulfilled when inventory becomes available. To complete the reinstatement process, it is necessary that you reply to this email, providing us with your permission to reinstate your backorder. We will keep you informed of order status updates via email. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your continued support."

Typedef: Seriously...is there anybody who hasn't been impressed with VisionTek's committment to the customer? Time and time again, these guys have demonstrated attributes I truly respect in ANY Company, not just 3D graphics. I'm really glad that these guys stepped up to the plate and ironed things out with Gateway.
