I have to add a me too to this thread.. I called and in about 10 minutes, I got my order reinstated.. I haven't checked the web site yet, but got a new order number.. however, my CSR didn't know when they would be coming in..

Thanks for the help guys.. can't pass up this card at this price..

Probably, since there is probably isn't a product number yet..

How long after you got the order re-instated did it show up on the web site, on average ?

i called about the gf4 yesterday about 1pm. when i went to bed at 1am, my order was still not on the web. pacific time. it was on there when i got up at 10

I think it took like a day or a day and a half to reflect the new status after I called in.

this is sweet. I live in CA and previously I had a total of $253. Now I save another $18. (no tax)
this sure beats going into compusa and buying the 4600 for $399.99 + tax $30.92 = $430.91 which I could have
easily done while I was there last Monday.

$430 - $235 = $195....geez what a smoking difference. With that savings I can have pop out another kid. Time to get busy.

mrbass - are you saying that you're getting the Ti4600 for $234? If so, how? That's the price for the 4400 - $50 rebate, free shipping, no tax. The 4600 should be $334.

I think he was saying that he would have had to get the 4600 if it wasnt for this deal since he only wants the 4400 anyway.

I logged in this morning, and sure enough the new order was there, along with the old cancelled order.. yea NECx..

but, I have a new status here:

This is for the 4400.. maybe they got some in stock ? :) :) :)

on the front page (before you go into order detail) it says:

You might be a lucky dog who is getting yours! I hear from the EBX boys that the first shipment of 4400's are scheduled to come in on Saturday via UPS overnight shipping. I have one on hold with them in case this deal bombs out.

I think that as someone else pointed out Gateway/NECX might have shaky credit with Visiontek which might be why they are having trouble getting parts... who are you going to provide parts to if you are Visiontek, Gateway who might go belly up, or someone solid like Best Buy?

Assuming that Visiontek has a steady stream of GPU's and other semiconducters necessary to create the boards they should start to meet the initial demand sometime in the next 2 weeks. They are probably cranking around the clock running 24/7 shifts to produce 4400 and 4600 boards (not to mention that there are still demand for the lower end cards they produce).

If you get your board, post back and let us know!

Sorry to say, but the Shipment Pending status will appear in the Status for a while after they reinstated your order, then will change to the dreaded "Backordered". I got excited too, but no such luck.

I had to call twice to reinstated over the past 3 days, and its funny how their stock answer is "oh, yeah, we'll have them in 7-10 days". I wonder what the start date is? :)

I got the appologetic email too. against my better judgement i had them reinstate my order.

I was thinking about holding out for the gainward. but after shipping it would be about $50 more for the possibility of 2 or 3 frames more.

Im about to build a new rig so ill save that $50.

John Malley, Director of Marketing at Visiontek passed along this statement this morning. For those that haven't received an email from Gateway on the matter already, here's what actually happened:
VisionTek has spoken with Gateway/NECX and they have admitted that there was an internal error with regards to the products being promoted with a discount through other sites. Gateway/NECX had so many orders for the products that they had to cancel the order taking process because they felt they wouldn't be able to fulfill all of them. When that happened, according to the Gateway Accessory Store, a "standard response email" was generated to all who ordered. The statement, "This item is no longer available from the manufacturer and will not be listed on our site in the future." is false. Gateway told VisionTek they would be working with individuals who placed the orders to fulfill them.


VisionTek IS manufacturing Xtasy Ti4600 and Xtasy Ti4400, and these products will be available through the retailers and etailers listed on our website. This is a copy of the new email Gateway has promised to send out to all who have not yet been contacted about reinstating their order:

Typedef: Seriously...is there anybody who hasn't been impressed with VisionTek's committment to the customer? Time and time again, these guys have demonstrated attributes I truly respect in ANY Company, not just 3D graphics. I'm really glad that these guys stepped up to the plate and ironed things out with Gateway.

I wont be reinstating my order, I have my ti4600 in my hands now, and I got it cheaper too! :)

A family member works for compusa, I didnt bother to check his price before because sometimes his discount isnt much off retail, it depends on the markup for the item, just for kicks I had him check for me and I was thrilled to find out that his cost with employee discount is $330.00 plus tax = $345.00 and no waiting :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Its all fine and dandy with VisionTek but it still doesn't explain why Gateway canceled pretty much every order that was NOT INSTOCK.

I think Gateway made their automated system to cancel all orders(that haven't been fullfiled) that used the $50 coupon.

Just finished installing and ran 3dmark, 10,214 3dmarks, got to see all the stuff you dont see when you have a geforce2 , wow the nature benchmark is amazing, and the ocean thing was beautiful :D

i know why i was pissed off now, it reminds me of girls of my past who are really hot about you, than cold(i get disappointed), then right about i am to give up, they turn hot again, so my conclusion: Gateway=girls

We will probably get hosed on this deal (due to lack of inventory)... but in my own case it's worth waiting a few weeks to save $50

My order was reinstated yesterday for a 4600 but without the $50 off. I hadnt called them, they reinstated it by themselves. BTW, I never got any email. I called today and the CSR said she would credit my account when card was shipped (end of month maybe). Later I looked and the $50 was back. If I find a better deal before than, I can always cancel the GW order.
