Gateway/necx canceling recent Visiontek 4400/4600 orders without notification, check your orders

I thought this deserved a whinefest of it's own.

My order of 2/21 for a 4400 with $50 off coupon has been canceled:

I received no email notification and the products are no longer listed on their site.

Oh man, this is gonna suck if they're gonna cancel all orders. I don't see why there is a legitimate reason for them to do this.

I just checked my account. I haven't been cancelled yet. Mine says backordered. I ordered the 4400.

Maybe they haven't gotten around to you yet- might be a chronological process. Yes, they can cancel an order without a reason, although if they do it to the extent I think they're going to do it here they're likely to run into some PR issues..
 
But I, like no Sox, Ordered the first day the deal was posted, on the 21st.
Shouldn't we be the last to get cancelled? And also, they've done this without notice?
They have some explaining to do, and at the least they better give me a 50 dollar credit toward anything I want.

Although it sucks to wait two weeks more, I want my card nontheless. This will be some of the biggest crap i've seen in a long time if they cancel orders..
 

Somebody probably whipped together a program that scans their backorder DB and cancels visiontek orders, in which case it's going to do it chronologically. Your time will come.
 
I didn't order the video card but did order the Asus mb p4s333 and audigy.

Those scum suckers sent me a "your order has been shipped email" after an email inquiry the next day. Order status showed shipped. Called today to ask for a tracking number and why it was taking so long. After a very long wait the csr came back and said that my order was cancelled because they were out of stock.
Something very fishy going on if you ask me.
I'm assuming that Necx is fulfilling the orders and when I visit their site both of my items are still showing in stock. Hmmmm......
 
Unless their going to cancel a lot of orders, I would think you guys would be last. But maybe visiontek told them they could only get a 100 cards this month, or that there are production troubles. I'd hope gateway would give you guys a form email tomorrow explaining the reasons for the cancelling. Letting you use the 50 off 200 on something else would be nice too. I'm not sure if a $50 credit is going to happen if their are as many cancellations as I think. I'm betting their aren't enough cards to go around right now.

I got the same email except pertaining to the Ti 4600.

I ordered the first day the deal was around. I just ordered from mwave for the PNY card, hopefully it will be in stock the 11th like they say.

Unfortunately the internet is good at disseminating information on a rapid basis, and I've learned that you're canceling many orders that were made utilizing your $50 off $199 purchase, without notification to the customers. This is bad customer service at best and a PR mess for you at it's worst. You're about to be deluged with similar emails like mine.

I suggest you be proactive about these cancellations and notify customers that have been affected. I also suggest you re-issue your $50 off promotional coupon to those affected by your actions as a sign of good will.

I got cancelled too.. Cheapest Ti4400 from pricewatch is $275 and $379 for a Ti4600.. guess I'll have to go with a Geforce3 or wait it out for a while..
 
sh!t, mine cancelled. This is going to be big, real big news if a large # of us are affected. oreded on 21 as well. it seems they didn't learn from their friends like Dell and bestbuy. ignorant bastards
 
I'm cancelled, too. I was one of the first to order. This seems fishy; doubt it has to do with stock, more like they don't want to lose a ton of $$$ on the cards.

I bet as soon as they get around to cancelling all the orders, they'll get em in and start selling at regular price.
 
Of course they will cancel all of them and then sell them at regular price. Dont you know were in a capitalistic society?🙂
