Gateway is back?

From what Wikipedia tells me, the Gateway brand, when it went defunct, was acquired by Acer. And in 2020, they started a partnership with Walmart.

If these things still hold, maybe they decided to revive or expand a presence under the brand.

I have two NV7921u notebooks that still work well. One I bought new in 2010 or so from TigerDirect. The desktop I bought on the same order took a power surge and only started when it felt like it. Maybe once out of 10 times I tried. I gave up on it several years ago, but I still have it holding a shelf down.

That's kind of nostalgic. Some of those machines are shipping with 4GB of ram, this is so on par with the brand.

We just need emachines to start shipping machines with exploding power supplies and we'll be in the Y2K glory years.

Our first computer was Gateway P3. A few months in, I decided I better learn how to fix computers. Hello Anandtech and Ars.

My first, last, and only pre-built was a Gateway 486DX2/50. I remember some problems around their telepath modem (still have the computer minus parts like hard drives). Did a white box after, then started building my own.
