It's getting to be time for a second monitor. I've got an FPW2405. I have about $80 in Best Buy coupons, and they have a Gateway FPD2485W. Here's a link. It's $680. I'd pay $740 with tax.

The Dell 2407FPW-HC is about the same price, and I'd have to pay tax on it. Is it worth the extra money over the Gateway?

I really like my Gateway 24".

That being said, it has an overly aggressive overdrive and tends to "smear" when transitioning from dark to light colors. I have seen this problem vary in severity from game to game. If you think you will be sensitive to this, then I would say go with the Dell.

You could always buy the Gateway from BB, return it if you dont like it and then get the Dell.

Well, if I'm going to drop almost a month's rent on a monitor, I want as close to perfection as possible. :p

Dell 2407WFP-HC (high gamut) or BenQ FP241WZ (new scanning backlight for fast gaming). If you want to know everything you're going to have to research some more (I like HardForum for that). BeHardware had a review of the FP241WZ as well.

Why LCD monitors are so expensive? For $200 more you can buy 42" PLASMA-LCD TV.
By myself: i also wanted it but i have to buy TV for living room, probably 46" and it will cost for me al least $3000 for new generation TV's and spend $700 just for PC monitor doesn't makes me fill right.

It's a matter of what it's worth to you. The 21" and 22" WS monitors aren't too bad, but I'm hooked on 1920x1200 and multiple monitors. I already have a 42" plasma anyway. :D

It's too bad we don't have HDTV service here in the sticks.

Lower brightness and use this ICC profile:

Please let me know if anyone wants to play with different settings - gamma, temperature, ambient light, luminance etc.

Thanks.

I think you mean someone else. I have only a single 400W Fortron, but it works well enough for my HW. :)
