My local BB had the Gateway FPD2485 24" LCD on clearance for $377. It's still listed at $679 on their website. Snagged the last one they had. The computer guy getting it down off the top shelf for me became *extremely* interested in it once he saw the price, so I figured I better jump on it. It doesn't have HDMI, but it supports HDCP via DVI.

They also had the speaker bar that attaches to it on clearance for $30, normally $80.

Nope, it was a new, factory-sealed box. As far as the panel goes, I really couldn't say for sure. I believe the older ones were not TN.

Damn I should have visited BB tonight.

It's going to be a mad house on Friday, maybe I'll go there after the dust settles.

Hrm In another thread someone mentioned the replacement for this screen Gateway FPD2485W is a TN are they refering to the FHD2400? My best buy here in seattle is still selling the FPD2485W for 679$ it seems. (phone call)
Gateway doesnt even list the 2400 on the site. But the 2485 is there at 499 -50$ instant with a rebate for 79$ for that silly sound bar. Or are they pulling something like Acer and adding a few letters to the serial and dumping a tn into the chassis?

I have 700$ to spend and a SUN crt taking a dump all over my desk!
500 something sure beats the 730$ at dell. (I'm sure gateway has just as horrible customer support as dell) Trade inversed ghosting for halos and power buttons breaking. >_<

Sorry if I am verring off topic a bit.

Friday morning, November 23rd, 7:00AM - not being honored locally, where I live.

They had one open box, for like $549.99.

Of course, the Office Max next door wasn't honoring the SOYO deal, either.

Screw these box stores.

This was a complete waste of time.

OM should have sold the Soyo 24" for $250. I just bought one at the Walpole, MA store this morning.

Here it is all the stores in the outskirts, a way to control loss I suppose. That or raging masses. I could just imagine what it would be like if the store near the university district held this sale. Stabbings shootings and fist fights :p
