Gasoline prices suck.

I'm sure it's even worse out in Cali and other places around the world, but in Northern Kentucky, 87 AKI costs $2.20 / gallon. If it gets much higher I need to sell my car... here are some gas costs:

My current car:
20000 miles per year / 15 miles per gallon X $2.20 gallon X 4 years of driving = $11,733 worth of gas over 4 years

25 mpg car:
20000 miles per year / 25 miles per gallon X $2.20 gallon X 4 years of driving = $7,040 worth of gas over 4 years

So I would save nearly $5,000 just in gas costs over the next 4 years by getting rid of the SUV this summer. Bastard who sold me the car said he typically got 19-21mpg. I do almost all highway driving @ 65mph and I can't beat 15 mpg.

EDIT: math

The guy who sold you a used car lied about it?

I cannot believe it!

Oh my,
try going 60 mph?

STFU, its $3 here.

anyways.. you might get 21MPG if you go 55 instead of 65. Or let it idle in fifth gear, whatever.

and if your car got even better gas mileage you would save even more money

we put peopel in space we sure as sh!t shouldbe able to make a car that gets 30+ mpg

I leave Overdrive on, if that's what you're getting at 😉 It's pretty much impossible to hit 21 in my car. I've got synthetic fluids, I run slightly higher-than-spec PSI in my tires (32 front, 30 rear), clean air filter, fuel filter, throttle body, etc. 15mpg is about as good as it gets. Pretty piss poor for a 3.3L V6 with less than 200 hp.

20,000 miles a year....pfff, shut up.

I drove 78,000miles last year, you don't hear me bitching about the price of gas.

Sounds like company miles. Or did you pay for all that gas yourself?

$3 US or $3 CDN?

It's $2.50 US here in So. California, expensive compared to the rest of the nation, but rather cheap when you compare to international places like Europe (I went to London last year, $9/gallon! :Q)

try $1.25 per litre for regular unleaded..thats what Australians are paying at the moments in some parts of the country..like where i live
$1.25x69litres=$86.25 to fill my tank and I'm only geting about 20mpg

STFU ABOUT GAS PRICES ASSHOLE

you are not the only one who uses it and for christ sake...do we need another gas price thread...

try searching sometime

Examine your driving style.
I bet you could get an easy 3-5mpg more from changing your style of driving.
