And everyone's IQ keeps dropping in OT.
I just installed a set of low compression cylinder heads on my VW bus so I can go back to using regular gas, going camping, see you clowns later !!![]()

Well, it may not work for you but my point is that quite a few people could get to work via something other than a car. I don't recall the exact stat, but a decent % of people live within 10 miles of work; those are the ones I'm referring to.Originally posted by: ThisIsMatt
My commute isn't flat, and it's about 24 miles via the freeway. Bikes are not allowed on the freeway. Thus, taking bike accessable routes would add a few more miles. It would take 2 hours to bike what I drive. Just assuming I don't sweat and have to shower by the time I get there, I'd still have to leave by 7am and wouldn't get home until 8pm.Originally posted by: Fausto
Honestly, that's really not as bad as it sounds. My commute is 8 miles each way and it only takes me 30 minutes. It's actually faster than driving 90% of the time thanks to Atlanta gridlock.Originally posted by: ThisIsMatt
Yeah, because those of us with a 20+ mile commute can easily bike 40+ miles a day.Originally posted by: Fausto
Jeebus, people. Ride your bike or something now and then and it's just not that big a deal. It costs me $30+ to fill my Explorer, but I only do so roughly once every 1-2 weeks.
$2.25/gallon for 87 here...
Actually, if we've hit Peak Oil, not even the Saudi's can save us.Originally posted by: Mallow
ever hear of peak oil? We've hit it.
only the saudi's can save us. ironic isn't it?

You are not qualified to talk about gasoline.
Stop buying Premium if your automobile doesen't require it. That will help.

Jeebus, man. Drink water or something now and then and it's just not a big deal. It cost me only $3.89 to fill my milk supply, but I only do so roughly every 1-2 weeks.
I do drink a lot of milk, but the brand I prefer is organic so I already pay a bit of premium.

Oh come on, gas in a relatively inelastic product. As the price goes up or down, demand will stay relatively constant. You know, and I know that you will continue to purchase gas, and drive, and I pay $2.10 per gallon.

PEAK OIL!! PEAK OIL!!
However, the fact that oil production is going down, and has since the year 2000, is quite alarming.

According to the Saudi's (Which are obviously a biased source), crude oil production is being reduced because the supply is greater than the demand. They say that the reason for high gas prices here in the states is because we do not have enough refineries and too many blends of gasoline. Are they right? Us common people will probably never know, but it is interesting that the major gas companies here are posting record profits...

Hehehehe
Good I hope more of them shut down and they crank the Gas up to $3 or more.
These adjustments to the estimates are based on non-technical considerations that support domestic supply growth to the levels necessary to meet projected demand levels.
I hate to be an alarmist, but the whole depleted oil supply scenario is quite the doozie.during the late 1980s, several OPEC countries drastically increased their reported oil reserves with no corresponding major oil discoveries. Why was this? The reason is that an individual OPEC member?s quotas are proportional to their proven reserves. Since the larger the quota, the more money they can earn, this obviously gave them a strong incentive to 'adjust' their figures. As Dr. Campbell and Jean Laherrere have explained, "such reserve growth is an illusion."

I never imagined that there is such thing as non organic (anorganic) milk...

If supply was outpacing demand, and they cut production to even it out.. wouldn't it simply cause gas prices to remain constant, not rise?
