Thinking that $2.30- to $2.80-a-gallon gas is "cheap" is like being happy you had your leg cut off after viewing a decapitation video.

Question 2: how many of you are toting 2 kids around in your Prius or Civic hybrid?

QFT

I live in a very blue state where the polls show a ~75% disapproval of GBush right now... high gas prices being one of the major reasons.

Yet I'd say a good ~75% in this state drive a huge gas guzzling pickup or SUV.

Something doesn't add up when it comes to taking responsibility for this issue.

Agreed.

If gas prices were @ $1.75, Bush would have an approval rating well over 60%

I'd say closer to 45%-48%... some people are just cheap little whores.

2.29 and dropping. 😀 😛

This is probably all temporary...so enjoy while it lasts.

however, with the discovery of more oil in the gulf, diplomacy efforts in iran, upcoming elections, a mild hurricane season, and a stockpile of fuel, all of these reasons are attributing to the lower pricing.

Cheap fuel has driven this economy for years, and I think Big Oil found the breaking point...

If I had to guess, you will see it hover around 2 to 2.50 with most people being happy.
