Gas pumps adding up totals wrong, overcharging?

So this guy notices that the pump is saying he put more gas into his truck than he should have been able to, and the way he says you should verify that this isn't happening to you is by pumping 10 gallons and making sure the price is right.

Why do these people always live in Georgia?

Yeah, a better way for the pump to cheat would be to dispense .95 gallons, display 1 gallon pumped, and charge for 1.

Yep - nothing new. This has been going on since day 1 and it's very difficult to enforce.

I usually fill my car up when I get to the same amount of gas left and there used to be a gas station near me that was always 7-10 cents cheaper, BUT I always put in about 1 gallon 'more' of gas there than anywhere else.

Take a container of known volume and see how "much" it takes to fill it.
