People who drive suv's, vehicles with v8 engines, vehicles that worth $35,00 $40,000 $45,000, $50,000+. They have no right to complain about fuel cost. People that drive suv's v8 vechiles cant complain about gas prices because they knew when they bought that suv/v8 , the mpg for it are going to be crap for it. People who own vechiles that are like$35,000, $45,000, $50,000+ such as the lincoln navigator, ford expiditon, ford excursion, gmc envoy, hummer h2, chevy trailblazer, ford mustang gt, pontiac gto, chevy corvette, dodge viper and etc . They cant complain, if they can afford to paid for those vehicles, they can afford to pay the $2.50+ for gas.

please explain why you choose your answers. thanks

Let's say someone bought a 2005 Hummer H2 for $50,000 making 70k+ a year. They have no problem paying the $840 monthly payment for the next 5 year, along with a $300+ insurance payment every month. But yet they have a problem one week when they have to pay for 25 gallons of gas at $2.17 a gallon costing them $54.25. But next week the same 25 gallons they are paying for is $2.49 a gallon. costing them $62.25 an $8 diffrent for the week. On average if gas stay between $2.17 and $2.49 for a whole month. They pay $233 on average for gas. They complain they have to pay on average $233 a month for gas but yet they dont mind paying the $840 for auto payment and the $300+ in insurance payment.

but yeah some company that need a truck with a v8 engine for the stuff they need todo, they have a right to complain. But my rant about people that use those vehicles for normal everyday use.

QFT

Edit: Looking at the poll results, many here don't seem to understand the above quote or choose to ignore it. People, especially in the US, can complain about anything they want no matter rich, poor, Civic driver or Hummer driver. Should they? It's their business!

Can you complain about them complaining? Damn sure you can!!! You have your "right" to complain about them (free speech) as long as you don't infringe on their "right" to complain about gas (free speech).

And you have the right to tell them to STFU as long as you don't try to enforce it and infringe upon their rights! ;)

Gas mileage and cost of insurance of a vehicle should always be factored in when considering a vehicle.

People who complain about the price of gas...meh...they can STFU. I get so tired of people whining about gas prices and yet will drop $$ like mad on on other things like going out to an expensive place to eat and think nothing of it.

And if you bought your vehicle before gas prices went through the roof?

Gas in Lexington, KY dropped to $0.59 per gallon in 1998 (maybe late 1997). It dropped to $0.49 in Corbin, KY ($11.00 per barrel of oil from OPEC that year). Maybe their vehicle was purchased then?

Oh, and they can tell you to STFU too...as long as neither try to enforce it! :D

This is such a ridiculous post....I drive a V8 and complain about gas prices....why?....beacause it's expensive you dumass. The price of gas is not cheaper for someone who drives a fvcking fortwo SMART car. Someone who drives a Honda Civic is going to complain about the price of gas just as much as a person with a Mustang.

Edit: The bolded lines in your statment above, those have to be some of the most ignorant typings EVAR! I can afford my Mustang GT just fine...I can also afford to fill it up whenever it needs it, but I don't have the right to complain about the cost of gas? I suggest you fvck off and quit posting. I hope you get run over by an SUV with a big V8 and a full tank of gas that the driver is complaining about to the passenger and thats why you got run over.......

For some reason this post made me angry. What a meathead.

Do you have a right to complain that tax on gasoline is not progressive? Why should the Escalade driver get away with paying the same gasoline tax as poor, little old you?

Wrong. I don't complain about gas prices because I only have to put ~$25 of gas to fill the tank, who cares. Some guy with an Escalade is going to spend well over $50 to go the same distance as I am. You are probably in the same situation.

Far better than the tax by mile that California and others are proposing. Do Escalades not wear the roads down quicker than a Civic?

Now if only Congress and Bush would cut loose the money collected in gasoline taxes for what they were intended: Roads! (Bush said will veto roads bill - funded entirely with gasoline taxes), but that's another topic.

But, not as good as the gasoline rationing I propose:
Originally posted by: Ornery
Instead of CAFE, the government should institute gas rationing if they want to curb fuel usage. That's the only fair way to do it.

"If people want to drive fuel efficient cars, that's their right. But forcing people in cars they don't otherwise wish to drive -- or indirectly taxing them through the regulatory standards for not choosing to drive cars that environmentalists like -- is not only wrong, it's dangerous." - Text
Of course, it depends what your ultimate goal is. Gas rationing would be to cut down fuel usage, and taxes are for revenue.

The better question would be, "do I care?" The question reminds me of the "My friend got AIDS" thread with every other post being "how?"

Do you live in a snowbelt or in NYC with that SUV. Do you have a family of 7 or is it you on your own?

Those are the things that would let me sympathize or not.

..crying and complaining is institutionalized in American society..yes it's too expensive considering our public transportation infrastructure is pizz poor and miserable. No doubt recreational joy riding is extremely wasteful.

Depends. If a business owner that requires a fleet of V8 - V12 engines in their work trucks daily - then yes, I do think they can b!tch about it as much as they damn well please. Contrary to popluar belief, some people actually REQUIRE a vehicle that has a large engine to to their daily work. My brother has to tow a trailer every day for his job, and it requires an engine with alot of power and torque. And he bitches about it alot. Becuase he can.

I personally think any soccer mom that just takes their SUV to the grocery store or to pick their kids up from practice or just run errands by themselves does not have the right to bitch, but if they wanted to spend close to 45K on a car and bitch about that price, they are entitled to and they are also entitled to bitch about the cost of gas as well becuase they can pay for it. It's their money and they can spend it how they want, but rationally I think the majority of SUVs on the road are just wasteful, and the same things that they are using them for could be accomplished with say, a large sedan or wagon.
